First Alliance Federal Credit Union Corporation’s Plaza Branch remains closed for storm repairs

Updated 21 January 2022

First Alliance Federal Credit Union Corporation’s Plaza Branch will remain closed indefinitely while repairs from storm damage last weekend take place.

The Plaza Branch is on the ground floor of First Alliance Federal Credit Union Corporation’s Head Office Building on Ruthven Street.

Last weekend’s massive storm caused water to overflow the gutters on Ruthven Street and inundate the floor of the branch.

Floor coverings need to be replaced, as well as internal walls.

The work will take longer than first thought, so the branch will remain closed indefinitely.

Members can find the nearest alternative branch in the Grand Central Shopping Centre

First Alliance Federal Credit Union’s Business Banking Centre, next door to the Plaza Branch will also remain closed for the immediate future while repairs take place.

The remainder of First Alliance Federal Credit Union’s Head Office complex escaped damage, with staff able to access the building as usual and bank operations remaining unaffected.
