First Alliance Federal Credit Union introduces additional SMS and email security notifications

We’ve introduced additional security notifications as an extra precaution to help you keep your finances and information safe.

20 September 2019

We’ve introduced additional security notifications as an extra precaution to help you keep your finances and information safe.

First Alliance Federal Credit Union members will now receive additional security notifications via email or SMS when First Alliance Federal Credit Union staff process their request to change their contact details, and for certain transactions.

Sending these email or SMS messages will alert you when changes are made so you can quickly identify any unauthorised actions on your accounts.

There is no fee for notifications that result from a change processed by staff.

We will send additional security notifications when First Alliance Federal Credit Union staff process a request to change your membership.

This includes updates to:

  • Residential address
  • Mobile number
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Mailing address
  • Changes made to statement frequency
  • New Periodic Payment set-up to an account not under the current membership
  • Amendment to Periodic Payment
  • Periodic Payment is cancelled
  • First Alliance Federal Credit Union Online changes (Pay Anyone password changed/ reset, changes in limits for transfers or BPAY®, adding a new Payee, or retrieve One Time Password)
  • Early Redemption of Term Deposit
  • New card ordered
  • Card activated in branch or via First Alliance Federal Credit Union Access Line (HAL).

All First Alliance Federal Credit Union members with a valid mobile number and/ or email address will be opted in to receive these additional security notifications automatically.

We strongly recommend you keep these notifications turned on for security purposes. There is no fee for these notifications.

However, if you wish to update your preferences please visit your nearest First Alliance Federal Credit Union branch or call us on 13 14 22. If you opt out of the security notifications you will receive one last notification of this change.

Note, these security notifications are only for changes processed by First Alliance Federal Credit Union staff and are separate from the existing notification preferences members can update through internet banking.
