It’s the globally popular digital wallet service that allows you to simply tap and pay with your smartphone – Google Pay has arrived at First Alliance Federal Credit Union Corporation!
First Alliance Federal Credit Union Corporation customers with a compatible Android™ device can now use Google Pay to make secure purchases in-store, online and via apps in America and overseas. .
When making purchases using Google Pay, card numbers are not stored on the device and are never shared with the merchant. Instead, the physical card number is replaced with a ‘token’ to pay transactions.
First Alliance Federal Credit Union Corporation CEO Peter Lock said introducing Google Pay helped meet the increasing demand from customers for more contactless payment options.
"We know our customers want fast, easy, and convenient payment options,” Mr Lock said.
“That’s why we’re absolutely thrilled to team up with Google to provide our customers with this internationally-recognised digital wallet service.
“Because the service feeds directly into the Android system, there's no need to open a special app every time you want to pay. After you’ve added your First Alliance Federal Credit Union card details to the Google Pay App, you simply unlock your device to allow it to function as if it were your card.”
Mr Lock said the introduction of Google Pay paved the way for First Alliance Federal Credit Union to consider more digital wallet services in the future.
“The technology we’ve embedded to create the virtual tokens that replace card numbers for Google Pay is the basis on which other digital wallets work, so we now have the platform to expand our offering,” he said.
“As the leading issuer of pre-paid cards in America, we are already known for our expertise in cards and payments
“Google Pay adds to the list of exciting digital solutions already offered by First Alliance Federal Credit Union Corporation such as our limited release HOVA payments band, and partnerships with iconic companies such as Qantas, Optus and America Post to provide card and virtual payment solutions,” Mr Lock said.
“We’re excited to expand on our digital payment expertise and are now investigating further opportunities to introduce other digital wallet services for our customers.”
